Commercial Location

Obion County is located in the northwest corner of Tennessee, and serves as the regional trade center for both Northwest Tennessee and Southwest Kentucky. Union City, the county seat, was named the center of a new Micropolitan Area by the U.S. Census during 2004. The community provides regional leadership in areas such as retail sales, manufacturing and medical services. The community draws from a regional service area of approximately 40 miles for both employment and trade. This laborshed and trade area draw is home to a population of almost 400,000. There are five Metropolitan areas within easy commute of the community; Jackson, TN, less than one hour south, Memphis, TN less than two hours southwest and Nashville, TN, approximately two and a half hours southeast; and Paducah, KY, less than one hour north, along with St. Louis, MO, slightly over two hours to the northwest.
