Keith Hamilton spoke with Lindsay Frilling (left), chief executive officer of the Obion County Joint Economic Development Council, and Obion County Central High School guidance counselor Heather Kendall about the mechatronics program at Motlow College and Middle Tennessee State University at the weekly Union City Rotary Club meeting on Friday. Hamilton is using over 30 years of experience in workforce development to prepare Tennesseans for careers in the quickly expanding field of mechatronics, a hybrid science of mechanics and electronics that many modern industries are pursuing for the future.

A “dyed in the wool” Tennessean, Hamilton says the program has worked wonders to bring foreign industry to Middle Tennessee in pursuit of the skilled workers the MTSU program is producing and wants to see the rest of the state follow suit.
