HOLIDAY HELP — Union City Police Department investigator Stan Haskins worked alongside other law enforcement officers and volunteers to unload a trailer of toys donated to Chimes for Charity through recent efforts involving Union City police and the Obion County Sheriff’s Department. The people of Union City, Obion County and the surrounding area opened their hearts and donated a huge amount of non-perishable food and toys during recent pre-Christmas “Pack the Patrol Car” collections and the “Blue Lights and Banks” event with local banks. The police and sheriff’s departments ended up with one enclosed trailer packed with nearly 5,000 pounds of canned and dry goods and this second trailer packed floor to ceiling with toys. Both events also yielded about $8,300 in cash donations. Chimes for Charity delivered 250 food baskets to less fortunate families and individuals around Obion County on Saturday, December 23rd.
