Plant Managers' Association

Obion County has an active and strong plant managers association which is a valuable asset to both the community and the area's industrial operatives. Certainly, from the standpoint of recruitment of new outside capital investment, such an association offers an extremely strong component to the community's presentation as prospects inquire as to possible facility locations.

The association provides a direct two-way link to local, state, and federal governments. As communication needs arise from each of these entities that link is in place. It creates a genre to gauge how proposed programs and legislation will not only affect manufacturers, as well as, the level of acceptability.

From an industry standpoint, there can be numerous benefits:

  • Being able to share information quickly and effectively regarding any subject matter whether positive or negative;
  • An immediate venue for professionals to share information to all plants that my be affected and/or need assistance (e.g. Osha, Tosha, workers comp, etc.);
  • The ability to forge an immediate consensus on any number of issues and speak with a unified voice certainly is an attention getter; and,
  • Simply being able to develop and cultivate an on-going relationship with other area plant managers is certainly another plus to mention a few.
