The Tennessee General Assembly has overwhelmingly approved a measure that preserves and promotes Reelfoot Lake's Tennessee Heritage.

House Bill 1067 designates Reelfoot Lake as the state's first Tennessee Heritage Site. This designation is based upon the lake's geological history, natural resources, and other unique characteristics.

Under this initiative, state departments and agencies can use the Tennessee Heritage Site designation for purposes of publications, advertising, marketing, and other communications.
