Young Professional Spotlight - Laura Burpo

Where do you work?
I currently work part-time at the Obion County Chamber of Commerce as I have recently concluded my graduate education program.

What do you like about your job?
I love working for the Chamber because I have been able to learn so much about how a community is sustained and how businesses are recruited and retained. I also love helping put on networking events and attending ribbon cuttings and open houses. Those are such a unique experience because you get to see first hand the success of your local businesses.

What do you love about Obion County?
Obion County is a place where support is never in short supply throughout all the ups and downs of life.

How do you envision Obion County in the next 10 years?
In the next ten years, I see Obion County growing, while still retaining the small town hospitality that we all know and love.

Why is it important to be involved in your community?
It is important to be involved in your community because the more you invest in your community, the more your community prospers.

3. I want to learn sign language

What is in your bucket list these days?
